November 20, 2019 12:45 pm | by Kevin Ticen
The Spokane Shock today announce the signing of elite pass rusher, Walter Thomas. The Shock nose guard averaged nearly a sack per game in 2019 while finishing second in the league in forced fumbles per game. Thomas spent the past two seasons with Shock head coach Billy Back and the Carolina Cobras.
A superior athlete, the 6’3, 340-pound nose guard can do a full front flip and is a force in the interior line. Thomas has played for Back his entire career, most recently for the Wichita Falls Nighthawks in 2016-2017 and previously for the Nashville Venom from 2014-2015. Thomas’ 27 tackles and five sacks in 2016 earned him Second Team All-IFL recognition while he was a First Team All-IFL selection in 2015. His 2014 Nashville squad won the IFL Championship.
The Galveston, Texas native began his college career at Oklahoma State before attending Northwest Mississippi Community College.
