Biography

Marquel Wade (5’10”,180) enters into his fifth year in indoor football and first season with the Spokane Shock. In 2016, he spent his rookie year with the Nebraska Danger of the IFL where he played in 11 games, racking up 309 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Wade also served as Nebraska’s kick returner notching eight kick returns for 132 yards. During his rookie year Wade became a popular target on the Danger’s offense helping the team to a Intense Conference Wild Card victory and a Conference Championship appearance.  Wade is an All-IFL WR and Return man.  He has played with Cedar Rapids, Jacksonville and now Spokane.

Prior to his professional career, Wade attended the University of Arkansas where he played one season with the Razorbacks in 2011. As a freshman, he played in 10 games where he caught 8 receptions for 62 yards. Wade also excelled on special teams returning 12 punts for 99 yards and 14 kicks for 358 yards and one touchdown. That year, he made the All-SEC Freshman team on special teams.

Wade is a native of Jacksonville, FL where he attended Andrew Jackson High School. During his time at Andrew Jackson he recorded 53 receptions for 769 yards for nine touchdowns his senior year. As a punt returner he returned eight punts touchdowns during his junior and senior year. He was rated the No. 48 athlete in the nation by Rivals.com and No. 91 wide receiver nationally. He played both basketball and football for Andrew Jackson and was recruited by Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Miami before he committing to Arkansas.
